Sgt. James Lee Hutchinson receives " Circle of Corydon" from Indiana Governor Holcomb and Senator Eric Koch

BEDFORD - FEBRUARY 24, 2024 - The " Circle of Corydon" was created by Governor Eric Holcomb to honor Hoosiers together with the receipt's State Representative or Senator.

The Circle is the only award issued or signed jointly by members of both the Executive and Legislative Branches.

The award's name pays tribute to the Town of Corydon, which played a pivotal role in Indiana's history as the first State Capital were the founders drafted Indiana's first Constitution.

The Circle is meant for those who, like the State founders, have bettered Indiana, and who have demonstrated the qualities exemplified by the state's greatest citizens.

" Sgt. James Lee Hutchinson was previously recognized by the legislative branch through a joint legislative resolution sponsored by then Indiana State Senator Brent Steele and Eric Koch when he was a state representative. Hutchinson was also recognized by Indiana Governor Holcomb with a " Sagamore of the Wabash" from the Executive Branch. Tonight Lee really hit the trifecta," said Senator Eric Koch in honoring Hutchinson during tonight's Bedford Rotary Club Toast to Hutchinson.

The event was held at the First Baptist Church Saturday night with a great turnout to honor one of the men from "The Greatest Generation".

More is coming to the Lawrence County Zephyr from this evenings event.
