  • The park board would like to have a food truck Friday over the summer with a kick-off opening day of the pool or conjunction with the Hoosier Uplands concerts. There were concerns about the transient merchant restriction with those vendors required to purchase a $500 permit. This is not a fundraiser but bring attention to the park system. The ordinance was created to prevent vendors from profiting from the Persimmon Festival from two to three blocks away

  • Lighting will be placed at the city pool for night swimming. This was a huge revenue stream for the pool last year. New lights will be placed above the pool. The lights in the pool will not be fixed

  • Lawrence County Community Foundation impact grant application are due April 17, after Miller speaking to youth in the area. The youth in Mitchell say the basketball courts are not regulation size and the Mitchell Park Board will be applying for grant for the project. The court at this time is asphalt, and making the court regulation. On a given night there are group of 10-15 kids that are on the courts. The lighting will be LED style lights
