BEDFORD - FEBRUARY 20, 2024 - Bedford Mayor Sam Craig swore in Bedford's newest firefighter Parish England Tuesday evening.

England is not a stranger to the fire service with seven years on the Mitchell and then Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department.
" My dad, was a police officer so I had to do the opposite of him, but I was talking to couple of my buddies from high school when the fire department started having the junior firefighter program with the City of Mitchell and then all of us switched over to Marion Township" said England.
" We all talked about it and did it at the same time, and fell in love with it instantly,"
England's family came along to watch the ceremony with his mother, father, step-mom, and sisters.
His wife Madison and son Ledger joined him in the beginning of his new career.
