Those participating include Becky's Place, Bedford Police Department, City of Bedford, Families Forever, Hoosier Hills PACT, Hoosier Uplands, Indiana 211, IU School of Social Work, Lawrence County Department of Child Services, Lawrence County Judges, Lawrence County Ministerial Alliance, Lawrence County Probation, Lawrence County Prosecutor's Office, Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, Life Solutions Counseling, and United Way of South Central Indiana.

In the group there is 18 professionals representing 14 organizations in the county who are committed to improving the help seeking process for survivors of domestic violence.

There were a total of 80 women ranging from the age of 18-56 who completed a survey seeking stories and experiences of the survivors, and collected their responses.

The survey has allowed the group to identify areas of focus. The group was recently awarded a grant by the Hoosier Uplands for a billboard campaign. In addition, radio campaign, and strengthen relationships between law enforcement and provider agencies.

There have been teams assigned to work on the areas of focus.

The group is developing information campaigns to communicate with current victims, survivors, and the support systems in the community.

This will empower people to take control of their own lives and eliminate barriers in the help seeking process.

The group recently attended the Lawrence County Fair sharing the groups mission.

In addition, a peer support group network to empower the community to better support current victims and survivors of domestic violence.

The survey has been completed and the report is complete but what is the secrecy in these agencies .

One of the many reasons why criminal behavior is the agencies that are suppose to address the toughest issues is these agencies hide their deficiencies. If these agencies are afraid of survey results being released to the public and mask results , then think how difficult it is for a domestic violence to come forward.

The time the local agencies unmask the survey and come forward. There is huge amounts of money going to crime fighting, the public needs to know the local programs are not working.

The time for accountability has arrived.
