No One Injured After Handgun Discharges

SEYMOUR - ( January 8, 2022) -At approximately 1:18 PM today, Seymour Police dispatch received a 911 call reference a domestic dispute between a male and a female in the 800 block of Pershing Street.

It was discovered that during the dispute a handgun was discharged by a male on scene.

Upon arrival, SPD officers were in a brief standoff with the suspect before taking him into custody and ultimately determined that the handgun was discharged into the floor of the residence. There were no injuries as a result of the handgun discharge. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident.


The male is currently in custody and there is no threat to public safety.

Charges are pending at this time and additional information will be available at a later date.
