Town of Oolitic Collecting for Mayfield, Kentucky Tornado Victims Until 4:00 p.m. Friday

OOLITIC - ( December 16, 2021) - Town of Oolitic is still collecting donations for Mayfield Tornado victims until 4pm tomorrow. We will be leaving at 4:30 to take everything down.

" I have friends in Mayfield so all items donated will go to the hands of families who are in desperate need. (I’m not sure how you want to word it but everything donated will go directly to families without passing through other services) Items needed include, baby wipes, diapers, baby food, food that doesn’t require electricity (granola bars, etc.), blankets, toiletries, gently used or new clothing, water, batteries, socks, etc.," said Carla Roberts.

"I’d like to also thank the entire town of Oolitic and surrounding areas for their donations. A huge thank you to our Clerk-Treasurer Annette Norrick, Heidi at Oolitic Hair Company and her clients for their help, Oolitic Kiwanis, Jon Jeffries, Paul Endris, Marilyn & Benny Kimmel, Bedford Enterprise, and so many others. I know these items will be put in the direct hands of families who are so grateful and have a true need," Roberts added

"It’s an honor to have had such an amazing outpouring of love and support we had to rent a van just to be able to haul everything. I can not thank everyone enough,"

The supplies collected for Madisonville; Kentucky left this morning. There are other efforts underway in Lawrence County, however Lawrence County Zephyr has not received any information on those efforts.
