Poll: Should the open area of Harp Commons Go Smoke Free?

BEDFORD - MARCH 8, 2023 - The City of Bedford city council members is considering making the open area of Harps Commons smoke free. The building is already a "No Smoking Area."

The Bedford Revitalization Incorporated who operates the area events at Harps Commons requested the new ordinance.

Special events like the Limestone Heritage Festival when large crowds gather and when the property is rented by other groups and organizations the ordinance would prohibit any smoking in the grassy area and consideration of imposing the same ordinance along the alley to the south of the grassy area.

Would a better compromise by no one under the age of 21 enter the grassy area, during the Limestone Heritage Festival especially when beer and alcohol are being served.

The enforcement of the ordinance will be another area of concern, on who would be the agency or police department enforcing the " No smoking policy"

Today's poll should the grassy area in the Harp Commons be " No Smoking Area" ?
