Updated: Motorcyclist Flown to Louisville Following Accident on Sherwood Road

BRYANTSVILLE - JULY 5, 2022 - Correction: A motorcyclist was trying to avoid a head-on collision with a pickup truck. The truck was not damaged in the accident. Lawrence County Zephyr orginally reported the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.


A motorcyclist was injured in a traffic accident in the 1700 block of Sherwood Road Tuesday afternoon.


The 911 call reporting the accident 1:55 p.m.

The motorcyclist was trying to avoid a head-on collision with a pickup truck. and the motorcyclist suffered a significant injury to his foot.


IU Health Lifeline Ambulance transported the male to a nearby landing zone, which was set up by members of the Huron Volunteer Fire Department.



Due to the nature of his injuries a StatFlight helicopter transported the 58-year-old man to the University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville, KY.


Details of the accident are not available at this time as the accident is under investigation and family members was being notified.


Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, IU Lifeline Ambulance, and Huron Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident.
