Mitchell Community School Board Approves the Sale of Huron Properties

MITCHELL - (February 14, 2022) - The Mitchell Community School board approved the sale of two Huron Properties to James Carpenter. Carpenter was the only bidder on two parcels of property. The properties are located just off of Vincennes Road.




The first property was 48.75 acres for $181,500 and the second parcel of 40 acres for $151,000.

  • Approved Mitchell Future Farmer America trip to the Farm and Machinery Show February 18-19 in Louisville, KY

  • Approved opening Extra-Curricular Account for Mitchell Class of 2023

  • Amended the contract for School Bus Route #8

  • Approved the Joint Development of a COSMOS Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment to Explore Future Career Technical Education Offerings

  • Approved the non- certified packet for Speech Language Pathologist assistant

  • Dr. Comer gave on update on the proposed block scheduling at the high school. This schedule is the same that Orleans and Shoals High Schools are currently using

  • Approved a communication audit by SpyGlass Communications to assess the corporation for telephone, internet, and Wi-Fi communications. The company will be looking into whether they could save the corporation any money on these services.

  • The school has seen an improvement in the number of COVID cases.

  • The corporation will be looking into the staffing needs of the corporation. The corporation has seen an increase in enrollment numbers over the last couple of years.

  • Construction of the Maintenance Building will begin once weather starts to improve. Prepartions are already underway, with fencing already being erected.
