MITCHELL - NOVEMBER 8, 2022 - The Mitchell City Council regular meeting will have to be re-scheduled due to a lack of quorum. The meeting will be re-scheduled for a later date.
The appointment of the next Mitchell Mayor will take place this Saturday at the Mitchell Community Center at 6:00 p.m. The Republican party will hold a caucus to fill the position.
There are five candidates who have asked to be considered to replace Mitchell Mayor J.D. England who resigned to take on a position in the private sector.
List of candidates include:
Nathan Jenkins - Who is currently serving as a Mitchell City Council member
Corey Pace -
James William McFarland -
Vicky Schlegel -
Danny Terrell - Who has previously served as Mitchell Mayor
At this time Larry Caudell will serve as acting Mayor until the position is filled by the appointment.
