HENDRICKS CIOUNTY - APRIL 6, 2024 - A Hendricks County deputy has died Monday night after coming in contact with a downed power line at the scene of a vehicle accident on Indiana State Road 267 near Plainfield.
The accident reported around 11:50 pm Monday night on Indiana State Road 267, with a person reporting officer Deputy Fred Fishlar down.
Deputy Fred Fishlar was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, in critical condition and died just before 1:00 am.
" This is a sad day for the Hendricks County County Sheriff's Department," said Sheriff Jack Sadler.
Fishlar had been with the Hendricks Sheriff's Department for two years and leaves behind a wife and two children.
