On April 24, 2022, at approximately 11:00 am units responded to Bruce Drive for a woods fire. Approximate 1.5 acres burnt. Fire was started by a trash fire that got out of control.

At 10:35 a.m. Martin County Civil Defense responded to a tree that had fallen in the 1200 block of Mt. Pleasant Road. While cutting the trees the sparks from their chain saws sparked a field fire. The firefighters were able to get the fire under control with a brush unit.
Throughout the day Sunday the wind conditions complicated firefighting efforts.
