City of Bedford Utilities Announces Road Closures as Part of the 5th Street Stormwater project

BEDFORD- MARCH 10, 2023 - The Bedford Utilities Department announced the following road closures due to the storm/water mitigation project.



  • 16th Street /U.S. 50 West in westbound lanes will be closed west of S Street and Brian Lane Way from Monday March 13-16, 2023, dependent on weather and schedule.


  • Entrance to Parkview Primary and Intermediate will still be accessible from 16th St. Access to businesses west of the road closure will be accessible from Indiana State Road 37.


  • Semi-truck traffic can use business 50 to Indiana State Road 37 North to access west 16th St/U.S. 50. The road lanes closure is due to an emergency repair to the sanitary sewer line on 16th St.


  • Eastbound Lanes of John Williams Blvd will be diverted into one lane of westbound John Williams Blvd around construction and O St will be closed south of John Williams Blvd. to the alley between 10th Sand John Williams Blvd. from March 11- 17, 2023.


  • Entrance to Love on a Leach Grooming Parlor at 926 O St for customers will need to use 10th Street to enter and exit


  • Storage Express customers can use 10th Street for access.


  • Road will be closed for excavating and new piping of 24 inch sanitary sewer pipe in John Williams Blvd. The City of Bedford received a transportation and storm water grant to complete this project.

Emergency personnel as well as the postal service has been notified of these lane restrictions.


If you are aware of deliveries, please let them know of the lane restrictions. Please avoid these areas if possible. Be patient, cautious and aware of heavy equipment in these areas.
