Bedford firefighters respond to intentionally set fire at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store on 17th Street

BEDFORD - FEBRUARY 14, 2024 - The Bedford Police Department and Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a intentionally set fire at the St. Vincent Thrift Store located at 920 17th Street in Bedford.

The incident was caught on surveillance video and anyone with information is asked to call the Bedford Police Department at 812 - 275-3311.


The fire was reported at 12:37 am Wednesday morning sending all three fire stations to the fire. " Our trucks arrived within three minutes of the call. The investigator with the Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office was contacted and our firefighters did not leave the scene until 4:21 am," said Bedford Fire Chief Luke Pinnick.



The fire caused considerable amount of damage and the St. Vincent de Paul Society Thrift Store will remain closed for a undetermined amount of time.


People are asked not to bring donated items until further notice.
