BEDFORD - AUGUST 19, 2022 - The Bedford Board of Works will meet in special session at 11:00 a.m. at Stonegate Arts and Education Center to vote on a recommendation to demote Captain Timothy Chen from Captain to patrol officer.

Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore placed Captain Chen on administrative leave August 9, 2022, and the Board of Works voted to approve the request on Monday.
Chief Moore did not disclose why, Captain Chen was placed on leave.
Chen has been a member of the Bedford Police Department for 18 years and received a Hall of Fame Commendation in April 2019 after he negotiated the release of a woman and her son during a hostage situation.
The son was being held at gunpoint.
