BEDFORD - ( January 7, 2022) - Update: 5th Street, L Street, and M Street is now open.
Original story: An accident involving a gas leak has closed 5th Street at the railroad tracks to N Street intersection.
A vehicle has struck a gas meter at the intersection at L Street.
The road will be closed for several minutes while repairs are being made.
L street from 4th to 6th Street and M from 4th to 6th Street is also closed.
No word on injuries.
The accident happened around 5:20 p.m.
Center Point Gas has just arrived to shut off the leak. Duke Energy has arrived to shut off power, and Bedford Street Department has arrived to put up barricades.
