Lawrence County Officer Brenten Trueblood obtained information that Sanders was staying in Lawrence County. He began an investigation with Trp. Chance Humphrey of the Indiana State Police. The two officers were able to gather probable cause on the exact location through a variety of investigative techniques.

On March 1st, Officer Trueblood and Trp. Humphrey were working on obtaining a search warrant and plan it's execution at a residence in East Oolitic. A plain clothes trooper observed Sanders in a pickup truck, traveling eastbound on East Oolitic Road, then south on Peerless Road.

Due to the fact that the investigating officers were not in the area, Sheriff Greg Day drove towards the area. He observed the truck and conducted a traffic stop. He, and plain clothes troopers, took Sanders into custody without incident.

We want to commend the excellent investigative work of Officer Trueblood and Trp. Humphrey. Without their efforts, this wanted fugitive would still be on the run.
