Update To Travel Advisories - Motorists Asked To Use Caution in the Morning

LAWRENCE COUNTY - (February 4, 2022) - Bedford Mayor Craig is advising Bedford residents to use caution when getting out tomorrow morning due to the single digit temperatures. Some side roads may still have some packed snow and the possibility of ponding water due to melting snow freezing at these temperatures. Please also use caution while walking on sidewalks and parking lots.


Bedford Street Department crews worked tirelessly to get the street cleared.


Here is an update to the travel advisories across the State of Indiana


All crews are exhausted after a long duration of working to get roadways in good conditions.


Oolitic Street crews prepared before the Winter Storm hit with trucks loaded with salt and sand.

K Street in Bedford when the Winter Storm first started Thursday morning.


Lawrence County Highway crews hit the county roads early Friday morning at 4:00 ready to tackle more than 640 Miles of roads. With wind chills expected to be below zero in the overnight hours the refreezing of roadways may present morning travel difficult in places.

Motorists are asked to use caution according to Lawrence County Commissioner Dustin Gabhart.
