LAKE MONROE - AUGUST 14, 2023 - A New York man drowned on Saturday afternoon, at around 3:52 pm in the Paynetown area.
Rajesh Kumar 40, Ozone Park, New York was recovered on Saturday afternoon after he went under water and did not resurface.

Then on Sunday emergency crews were dispatched to Moore's Creek area for a second drowning.
A Bloomington man was recovered from Lake Monroe Sunday afternoon when Paul Bosler 66, Bloomington went under water and did not come back up.
This would make three incidents at Lake Monroe that sent emergency crews from the Monroe Fire Protection District Marine unit, Monroe County Dive Team, IU Lifeline Ambulance, and Indiana Conservation Officers on both Saturday and Sunday.
Just minutes after the incident Saturday afternoon a sailboat capsized, and the occupants of that incident made it out of the water uninjured. This also happened in the Moore's Creek of Lake Monroe.
Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating both incidents with the Monroe County Coroner's office.
