Two arrested after Indiana State Trooper Locates and Recovers Stolen Vehicle


 

BEDFORD - DECEMBER 21, 2023 - On Wednesday, December 20, Senior Trooper Richard R. Klun was on patrol in Lawrence County when he located a reported stolen vehicle making a turn from southbound Indiana State Road 37 onto eastbound Indiana State Road 58 in Bedford.


Senior Trooper Klun received information that the stolen vehicle, a silver 2001 Saturn LS, was traveling southbound on Indiana State Road 37 in the area of the Monroe/Lawrence County Line.


The vehicle had been reported as stolen to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday. After locating the silver 2001 Saturn, Senior Trooper Klun initiated a traffic stop and conducted his investigation.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jeffrey Mobley, 20, of Ellettsville, and the passenger was identified as Dustin Ikerd, 37, also of Ellettsville.


As a result of the investigation, Senior Trooper Klun found evidence of methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and additional drugs


. Both men were arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail where their custody was transferred.


Mobley and Ikerd were arrested for the following charges:


  • Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, a Level 6 Felony

  • Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony

  • Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor

  • Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor
