SPRINGVILLE - DECEMBER 30, 2022 - A structure fire on Cobb Lane is under investigation by Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Perry Township, Marshall Township and Oolitic Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a modular home fire on Cobb Lane Thursday night
The 911 call reporting the fire came in at 11:48 p.m. The home was located in the 300 block of Cobb Lane.
When firefighters arrived, they found the structure already fully involved.
According to Perry Township Volunteer Fire Chief Jessica Voorhies, the home was unoccupied and there was no electricity to the home. " For those two reasons the cause of this fire will be further investigated. The Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office will probably be contacted to further investigate and determine the origin and cause of the fire," said Voorhies.
Firefighters from Perry Township, Marshall Township, Oolitic Volunteer Fire Department, and IU Lifeline Ambulance Service responded to the fire scene.
This was the second structure fire eight minutes apart in Lawrence County. Shawswick and Marion Township Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of Trinton Circle at 11:40 p.m. The details of the fire on Trinton Circle is in another news story.
