Strong and Severe Storms Causing Damage in Several Counties in Southern Indiana

AREA - JUNE 17, 2022 - Strong and Several Thunderstorms have cause trees, powerlines and minor flash flooding throughout the southern part of Indiana.

In Lawrence County several trees into powerlines on Ridge Road, Coxton Road, and Woodsferry Road areas.


A tree has been reported falling onto a mobile home on Woodsferry Road. No reports of injuries at this time. Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to this incident.


A tree also fell onto a home in the 6200 block State Road 58 East. Pleasant Run, Shawswick and Marshall Township Volunteer Fire Departments dispatched to that incident. No reports of injuries at this location.


Fire departments across the area are being dispatched to active fire alarms and storm related calls.


Greene and Martin Counties and Washington County Sheriff's Departments are reporting several areas with downed trees and power outages. Roadways are blocked due to the storm related damage.


Duke Energy is reporting over 11,000 customers are without power at this time, and REMC across the area are reporting several outages.
