MITCHELL - FEBRUARY 6, 2023 - A community prayer vigil will be held on Thursday for the two police officers that was shot over the weekend. The incident taking place in the area of Sinclairs on Indiana State Road 37 near Mitchell.
The prayer vigil will take place at the Mitchell City Hall Shelter House.
Lawrence County Deputy Joshua Rhoades has since been released from the hospital after being airlifted to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Rhoades a five-year veteran of the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, with serving three years as a road deputy.
Mitchell Police Officer Christian Anderson a three-year veteran of the that department remains hospitalized as early Monday morning in stable condition.
The public is welcome to attend the vigil that is being planned.
