One person injured - One person flees the scene of a residential fire on Barlettsville Road Thursday afternoon

BARTLETTSVILLE - APRIL 18, 2024 - Correction: The time of the dispatch was 3:51 pm not 4:30 pm as originally reported in the news story.


One person has been transported to the hospital after suffering burns and one person fled the scene at a residential fire located at 4445 Barlettsville Road.


Reports two people were in some kind of altercation prior to the fire.

A vehicle had a broken window at the scene.

The fire was reported around 4:30 pm with Pleasant Run Township VFD, Lawrence County Fire Territory, Marshall Township Oolitic VFD and Monroe Fire Protection

District responded to the scene.

Firefighters had to use a fire hydrant at Bedford North Lawrence High School as flush hydrants closer to the scene was not working.


IU Lifeline Ambulance transported the victim from the scene to the hospital and a Squad stood by at the scene while firefighters fought the fire.



The Lawrence County Sheriffs Department and Indiana State Fire Marshal’s is office is on the scene investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the cause of fire.


Pleasant Run Fire Chief Darin Kinser was not available for comment at this time.


At 6:30 pm firefighters was still on the scene.
