OOLITIC - AUGUST 2, 2022 - OOLITIC - AUGUST 2, 2022 - Lawrence County Highway Superintendent Brandi Webb told the Lawrence County Commissioners that there is no definite date set for the closure of Bridge 138 ( East Oolitic Bridge).
Webb says the public will be given at least one week notice and would like to give at least two weeks' notice on the closure.
There are concerns expressed about emergency response to East Oolitic, with emergency crews having a delayed response to fires, and emergency medical calls. Plans between emergency response agencies have already taken place between emergency officials. Details of the plan have not been disclosed to the public at this time.
The bridge is expected to be closed up to November, but weather and other issues could be a factor on how long the closure will last.
