The City of Bedford only maintains only one traffic control device at the intersection of Mitchell Road (M Street) and 18th Street.

Walmart maintains one stoplight on John Williams Blvd. and is responsible for its upkeep.

Once the upgrades are complete 16th Street from Indiana State Road 37 will be repaved as well as 15th Street from H Street to M Street will be resurfaced.

The Lawrence County Commissioners sued the Indiana Department over right of way concerns at the Lawrence County courthouse. Once the lawsuit was settled the modernization project was moved forward.
