Mitchell Police Officer - Mitchell's School Resource Officer Honored as a Kentucky Colonel

MITCHELL - SEPTEMBER 23, 2022 - A Mitchell Police Officer and Mitchell Community School Resource Officer has been named a Kentucky Colonel.

Mitchell Police Officer and School Resource Officer Rob German has been named a Kentucky Colonel.


This is the highest honor awarded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky is that of the Kentucky Colonel. " I was surprised and to be perfectly honest speechless about this award," said German when interviewed by the Lawrence County Zephyr about this award.



German was nominated by Kevin Henderson, Kirk Insurance in Mitchell.


Commissions as Kentucky Colonels are presented for contributions to the community, state or the nation and for special achievements of all kinds.

German has served the Mitchell Community for four years, being hired as the Mitchell Community School Resource Officer. German has been in law enforcement for over 12 years.


The City of Mitchell community and the Mitchell Community School Corporation students and staff have appreciated German's personality and service to the community.


German says the award is hanging in his office. If you see officer German out, during the Persimmon Festival this week congratulate him on his prestigious award.
