Mitchell Police look for two suspects that are considered armed and dangerous following pursuit Thur

MITCHELL - SEPTEMBER 1, 2023 - On August 31,2023 around 10: 00 pm, Mitchell Police Officers Michael Bargo and Steven Britten attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle when the vehicle sped off.

The suspect vehicle reached speeds up to and over 100 miles per hour.


During the pursuit, the driver flashed a pistol out of the window. Officers gained a safer distance while still pursuing. The pursuit went from Mitchell to Orleans back to Mitchell and ended out in the area of Hollace Chastain Road.


The Orange County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the pursuit as well as the Orleans Police Department.


Also assisting was the Lawrence County Sheriffs office, Oolitic Marshalls office and the Indiana State Police.


The driver and passenger fled from the vehicle into heavy brush. Mitchell Police Department later learned that Rodney Miller was given permission to use the truck a day prior and refused to bring the vehicle back.

A purse was located in the vehicle with information within that contained the name of Tiffany Wigley. If you have seen these two individuals, do not approach or take law enforcement action.
