Mitchell Man Sentenced to Prison for probation violations

LAWRENCE COUNTY - DECEMBER 14, 2023 – Lawrence Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline sentenced a Mitchell man to 798 days in the Indiana Department of Correction after violating probation.

Adam Shoults, 35, pleaded guilty to Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, a Level 6 felony, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident, a B Misdismeanor, as a part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana.

The plea agreement, negotiated by a Lawrence County Deputy Prosecutor in November of 2023, outlined that Shoults will execute 910 days in the Indiana Department Corrections with credit for 112 days of served time, the remaining 798 days of the sentence suspended and 545 days of supervised probation.

After failing an alcohol screen 8 days after the time of sentencing Shoults the Honorable Judge Cline sentenced him to serve the remaining 798 days of his sentence in the Indiana Department of Corrections.

Lawrence county officials picks when they want to obey the rules and shit. First PTR most people on probation and fail for meth get chance after chance I know if 3 people right now that is working on their 5th PTR and I bet the judge lets them go to rehab for the 5th time. People that beg for help that want to be sober but is at rock bottom never gets the help they need only ever get jail time! What a waste of tax payers money
