LAWRENCE COUNTY - JULY 6, 2022 - On Tuesday at noon was the last day for candidates to file for the November 8th Election.
There were two more Libertarian candidates to file for Pleasant Run Township Offices. These candidates include Amber Siscoe Pleasant Run Township Trustee and Carrie Atkins, Pleasant Run Township Advisory Board.
This year, there are eleven candidates who have filed for elected offices in local, state, federal offices making the Libertarian Party the second largest party now in the county.
The two Libertarian federal candidates are James Sceniak for U.S. Senate, and Tonya Millis for 9th District Congressional race.
In addition, there were three candidates filing for the Republican party which include James Edsel Ford, and Gary Don Faubion for Pleasant Run Township Advisory Board. Latoya Lea Lamm filed for Marion Township Advisory Board.
Only two Democrats are on the ballot in Lawrence County for the November 8th election which include Lawrence County Council District 1 Race David Smiter - ( D) - Lawrence County Council District 1 and Kevin Goodman for State Representative.
Candidates for the school board races can begin filing for school board races on July 27, 2022.

Mitchell Community School Board race - District 2
School board races are non-partisan seats, and board members serve for four-year terms. To be nominated for school board races, candidates are required to file a petition with the county clerk's office, which must include signatures of 10 registered voters in their same district.
