Lawrence County Veterans pay respect to Fellow Korean War Veteran Glynn Wiseman

MITCHELL - AUGUST 15, 2023 - On Tuesday afternoon, veterans paid respects to Korean War Veteran Glynn Wiseman who was finally laid to rest next to his beloved wife Geraldine.



Glynn passed away on May 8, 2023, who lived in Salem, Indiana however Glynn had no family that could be located locally.


" This is a phenomenal feeling there are people who care. These people went out of there way today, who did not even know my uncle personally. They knew to honor his service to the country," Kyle Bartshe said Glynn's nephew who traveled from St. Loius to be at today's grave side service.

" My brother found out through other contacts that my uncle Glynn had passed away. Nobody was able to make contact with us about his passing. We talked to Adam Kelly from Dawalt Funeral Home in Salem, and get this service taken care of. Glynn was cremated but they wanted to make he was with his wife,"

" I had to make sure I was here, because he did serve, this is worth making the journey," added Bartshe.


" Rest in peace, Uncle Glynn his wishes were honored, and I am glad we were able to do this,"


The American Legion Post # 250 Honor Guard gave the 21-gun salute, and played "Taps" then



Retied U.S. Captain Maria Pujols spoke a few words at the service, who did not know him but spoke on what it meant to be a Veteran.
