BEDFORD - FEBRUARY 8, 2024 - The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department is investigating a serious motorcycle vs tree accident on Tunnelton Road just south of the intersection of South Leatherwood Road Thursday morning.

The call for the accident came in at 11:53 am reporting the accident.

Emergency personnel from Bedford Fire Department, Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, IU Lifeline Paramedic Squad, Lawrence County Fire Territory Ambulance, and Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department responded.
The accident victim was unresponsive at the scene and CPR was being performed.
The accident victim was transported emergent from the scene to IU Health Hospital Bedford. A air ambulance was dispatched to the hospital.

Tunnelton Road was closed in both directions while emergency personnel worked the scene.
No other details will be released until an accident report is released by the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department.
