Lawrence County Commissioners Take Paving Bids Under Advisement

LAWRENCE COUNTY - ( April 11, 2022) - The Lawrence County Commissioners took paving bids under advisement during this morning's meeting.

Milestone, E & B Paving, and Flynn & Sons submitted bids for this year's paving season. Highway crews are currently doing patching work on roadways, and cutting brush.


The bids for bridge 150 will be let sometime in November, and Bridge 138 the work should begin in July and conclude weather permitting sometime in November.


In other business:

  • Approved Dustin Gabhart's request to allow Marion Township to use a 2005 Sterling Dump Truck in their upcoming Heavy Rescue Class. The dump truck has already been parted out and no longer use to the county. The county will tow the dump truck to the location. Marion Township continues to need buses, trucks and heavy equipment for the class.


  • Chief Deputy Gregg Taylor Reports 143 Inmates at the jail, 117 males, 26 females, 2 Parole, 3 - Level -6 inmates, and 8 Department of Corrections.
