MITCHELL - APRIL 10, 2024 - GOOOAAAALLLLL!!!!!!! Is the word you hear often in an intense game of soccer. Soccer being one of the fastest growing sports in Indiana and North America have taken its spot in small communities with youth leagues and successful varsity programs.

Jason Bowden has taken the helm as head varsity soccer coach at Mitchell High School and is going to bring this same excitement heard across the world into our community. “I have 4 pillars that are all crucial to a successful season and developing a long-term successful program”
1. Alignment with the school's athletic vision.
2. Leadership and effective execution of the leadership process.
3. Effective soccer preparation, Fundamentals, Strength training, strategic planning and formation execution.
4. Program expansion down through Junior High and Elementary levels.
“We want to make a solid and everlasting positive impact on our athletes lives and guide them in knowing that with hard work, passion, desire and dedication, they can achieve anything they set their minds to. There is no limit to what they can do in life. It is important we dig down and find their strengths and build solid individuals.”
Coaching is not a blanket approach; we must connect with each player to bring out their best selves.”
"It will be an amazing season. If you do not know about soccer or never thought you would be interested, then all you have to do is watch one game. To see the intense and aggressive efforts to see what the athletes go through sprinting at least 2 miles during a game, getting kicked multiple times in the shins, taking a ball to the face at 50mph, getting pushed, the rush and excitement when the game is tied. It isn’t a sport for the faint of heart. Our athletes give everything they have physically and mentally. We hope that the community will come out and watch us play as our athletes could use your support," added Bowden.
Mitchell High School Soccer program 13 seniors this year and we will be taking the game and program to the next level. Everyone will want to see it.
