MONROE COUNTY - MARCH 11, 2024 - Fire units responded to Duvall Rd today for a structure fire. Firefighters arrived to light smoke coming from the eaves of the roof and began fire attack operations.

The fire was inside the exterior wall of the home. Crews removed siding and wood from the home to expose the fire for extinguishment. Homeowners were home at the time of the fire and reported smoke coming into the house and called 911.
Fire investigators ruled the cause of the fire as an electrical failure. Engines 39, 29, 23, 22, Ellettsville Fire Department Engine 81 and Battalion Chief 22 responded to the call. IU Health Lifeline Ambulance provided medical standby.
