Units arrived on scene to a single-story home with heavy smoke coming from the roof and fire from the back. Crews made entry into the home and located the fire in a back room and in the attic space.

Firefighters climbed onto the roof to cut ventilation holes but reported the roof feeling structurally weak so firefighters exited the roof.

Firefighters were able to stop the fire spread in just a few minutes. Once the bulk of the fire was contained crews worked on overhaul and locating hot spots in some void spaces.

The family was home at the time of the fire. They reported hearing popping and crackling sounds before they saw fire out the back side of the house and the smoke.

Once the fire was noticed it was reported the house then began filling up with smoke and the detectors began going off. The homeowner grabbed their family and got out of the house.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is being investigated as a possible appliance malfunction.
