WASHINGTON COUNTY - JULY 17, 2023 - Firefighters from the Salem Fire Department and Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Departments are on the scene of a house fire at 1410 Brown Lane in Washington County.

The call reporting the fire came in at 7:08 am to the Washington County 911 Center.
There are no injuries at this time. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the roof of the residence. There is no word on what caused the fire at this time.
Jackson County REMC was called to disconnect the power to the residence.
The Indiana State Fire Marshal Office has been notified to investigate the cause/origin of the fire.
