HELTONVILLE - FEBRUARY 20, 2023 - Firefighters responded to a report of several hay bales that caught on fire in the 1200 block of Todd Lane Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters from the Pleasant Run and Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire on Sunday afternoon.
The 911 call reporting the fire came in at 4:07 pm.
The property owner told the Lawrence County Zephyr he had a small fire burning near the hay bales at the time, the wind started blowing the fire into the bales of hay.
Firefighters used several gallons of water, and the property owner using equipment to help spread the bales of hay out, so firefighters could extinguish the fire.
Firefighters remained on the scene until 5:47 pm. No injuries were reported. During the same time of this blaze, firefighters from the Indian Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to a small wildland fire on Louie Smtih Road in western Lawrence County.
