BEDFORD - AUGUST 15, 2022 - Firefighters from several fire departments are battling a structure fire on South Lakeview Drive in eastern Lawrence County.
Initially Shawsiwick, and Pleasant Run Volunteer Fire Departments were summoned to the fire. The 911 call came in at 4:45 p.m.
Additionally, Marion Township, and Carr Township from Jackson County was called to help assist.
At this time the property owner told Lawrence County that a small child lit a citronella candle and might have sparked the blaze on the front porch.
Firefighters keep a propane tank cool
The child is autistic according to the property owner.
At this time IU Lifeline Ambulance is also standing by the scene. Lawrence County Zephyr will update this story when more information becomes available.
