GREENE COUNTY - NOVEMBER 12, 2022 - Updated : A man died in an early morning accident on Interstate 69 in Greene County.

At approximately 7:50 this morning emergency personnel were dispatched to Mile Marker 99 on Interstate- 69 for a box truck that had went over the embankment.
The vehicle went over an approximate 300’ embankment where the box and truck were separated from each other.
The driver was located still inside of the vehicle deceased. The driver identified as 32-year-old Mitchell Fitzerald, of Owensboro, Kentucky was traveling northbound on Interstate - 69 in the left lane to pass another vehicle. He lost control of his vehicle due to weather conditions and struck a guard rail on the southside of the Interstate.
Monroe Fire Protection District, Greene County Ambulance, Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police and Ken's Westside Service and Towing assisted on scene.
