Columbus man arrested arrested for theft from his former employer Valeo North America

SEYMOUR - MARCH 12, 2024 - On January 27, 2024, Valeo North America in Seymour contacted the police department to report that a former employee used a company credit card for personal reasons, and was in possession of a company laptop computer, company cellular telephone, and a company adjustable computer desk. Valeo North America also advised the former employee would not return the items when they were asked to do so.

The former employee was observed removing some of the items from the plant according to Valeo staff. Investigators determined the former employee used the company credit card for personal reasons totaling over $9,000.00.


The total amount of the other missing items was $2,345.00. On March 8, 2024, investigators and patrol officers along with officers from the Columbus Police Department executed a Jackson Superior Court 1 Search Warrant at a residence on Henry Dr. in Columbus, Indiana.


During the execution of the search warrant, investigators and patrol officers located the missing laptop computer, cellular telephone, and the adjustable computer desk belonging to Valeo North America.


Also located at the residence, was other computer hardware belonging to Valeo North America.


Investigators arrested James A. Persinger age 38 of Columbus, Indiana for two counts of theft, both level 6 felonies. Persinger was taken to the Jackson County Jail and remanded into the custody of the jail division. Lieutenant C. J.
