Bedford sentenced to prison after failing to comply with house arrest conditions

BEDFORD – NOVEMBER 20,2023 - On November 20, 2023, A Bedford man was sentenced to the Indiana Department of Correction by Lawrence Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline after failing to comply with the terms of his House Arrest.

Billy D. Mills, 30, Bedford, pleaded guilty to Possession of a Narcotic Drug, a Level 3 felony, on May 11, 2022, as a part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana.


He was originally sentenced to 9 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections, with 6 years executed, and the remainder of his sentence suspended. On July 19, 2023, Mills’ sentence was modified and he was ordered to serve 1,211 days on House Arrest, in lieu of incarceration.


However, on November 20, 2023, after failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his house arrest, Cline sentenced Mills to 1063 days in the Indiana Department of Correction.
