Bedford Board of Works Approves Bids for Improvements at City Hall

BEDFORD - APRIL 28, 2022 - The Bedford Board of Works approved bids for improvements at the city hall on Thursday afternoon.



There will be three projects undertaken to help renovate and help with the appearance of the building.


The first project includes Brick and Tuck pointing, remove exterior paint, and remove as well as replace the shutters. Two sealed bids were received for this project from Umphress Masonry Inc. Bloomington, IN in the amount of $170,000 and McIntyre Brothers Construction, Bedford, IN in the amount of $87,435.


The Board of Works Authorized Mayor Sam Craig to go ahead and approve the lowest bid after questions about the bid were answered. The Board of Works will still have to approve it during their next meeting.


The second project includes the leveling of the floors at City Hall. Two bids were received for this project from Stiles Construction LLC Bedford, IN who submitted a bid of $44,780 and McIntyre Brothers Construction, Bedford, IN who submitted a bid of $37,240. The board of works awarded the bid to McIntyre Brothers Construction.


The third project includes installation of a door for City Hall. The bids were less than $50,000 therefore the second and third project were not sealed bids. There were three bids received for this project. Stiles Construction LLC submitted a bid of $13, 210, Umphress Masonry Inc. submitted a bid of $8,200 and McIntyre Brothers submitted a bid of $17,410. The Board of Works approved the bid of $8,200 from Umphress Masonory Inc.
