AVOCA - AUGUST 31, 2023 - During a joint meeting with Avoca/ Marshall Twp. Park and Marshall Township officials local resident Steve Stafford asked the group, if they would be interested in bringing train rides to the park.
The Marshall Township officials and Avoca/Park board took the matter under advisement until a formal proposal can be drafted. But, after hearing preliminary and brief description of Stafford's idea has both groups feeling favorable of the idea which will help generate revenue for the park.

The train concept will help compliment the many unlimited uses the park can benefit families using the park.
The operation of the train will be on the weekends, and during special holidays with tickets being in the price range of $25 - $50.

The park is located just west of Indiana State Road 37 on Avoca/Eureka Road using Indiana State Road 54 West in Avoca, Indiana.
Marshall Township took ownership of park, which is overseen by a park board recently.

The Avoca community had a train by up until the 1930's when ' Old Nellie' passed by. The railroad operated between Bloomfield and Bedford until the tunnel collapsed in Owensburg.
