Washington Police Department Arrest Fleeing Suspect

WASHINGTON - SEPTEMBER 11, 2022 -On September 10, 2022, Officers with the Washington Police Department’s 2nd shift conducted a traffic stop on W Vantrees near NW 15th for a traffic infraction.


The driver was identified as 41-year-old Roger Brooks.


During the traffic stop, Brooks attempted to flee on foot and physically resisted Officers.


It was reported that the Officers on scene were struck by Brooks during the incident. After a brief struggle, Brooks was placed into handcuffs and found to be in possession of a large amount of Methamphetamine and other Narcotics.



Officers reported locating more than 40 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, nearly 2 grams of Heroin, Prescription Pills, Marijuana, Paraphernalia and U.S. Currency.


Brooks was transported to the Daviess County Security Center on charges of Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance, Resisting Law Enforcement, and Battery on a Public Safety Official. Assisting was the Daviess County Sheriff's Office & Daviess Community Hospital EMS.
