Washington County Commissioners Provide Volunteer Fire Departments and EMS with APRA Funding

WASHINGTON COUNTY - JUNE 14, 2022 - The Washington County Commissioners provided each the county's volunteer fire department American Rescue Plan Act funding.

Washington County received $5.4 Million in ARPA funding and $2.7 Million was allocated to various projects and organizations in Washington County.


In records obtained by the Lawrence County Zephyr the Washington County Commissioners each volunteer fire department received $15,000 in funding.


  • Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department - $15,000

  • Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department - $15,000

  • Blue River Fire District - $15,000

  • Brown - Vernon Fire District - $15,000

  • Gibson/Little York Volunteer Fire Department - $15,000

  • Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department - $15,000

  • Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department - $15,000

  • Livonia Volunteer Fire Department - $15,000

  • Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Department - $15,000

  • Pierce/Polk Township Volunteer Fire Department - $15,000

  • Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department - $15,000

Crossroads Ambulance Service received $582,669 and another $108,197 in EMS equipment for the ambulance service. This included ventilators for the ambulance service.
