PAYNETOWN - AUGUST 7, 2022 - A vehicle fire temporarily closed State Road 446 near Rush Ridge Road Saturday afternoon.

A truck caught fire which was already fully involved when firefighters from the Monroe Fire Protection District arrived.
The truck was carrying hay bales in the bed which was pulling a trailer from behind, which also had hay bales inside.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading into the trailer. However, State Road 446 had to be closed while firefighters extinguished the hay bales from the truck.
