U.S. Congressman Jim Banks to Speak at Lincoln Day Dinner April 20th

The Lawrence County Republican party is hosting the Lincoln Day Dinner on April 20th at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.


The Lawrence County Fairgrounds located at 11265 U.S. 50 West, Bedford, Indiana.


U.S. Congressman Jim Banks will be the guest speaker at this event.


The Cocktail Hour begins at 6:00 pm and Dinner served at 7:00 pm the cost is $60 a person and $100 a couple or $400 a table.



U.S. Congressman Jim Banks


U.S. Congressman Jim Banks is a native Hoosier born and raised in Columbia City. Banks earned an undergraduate degree from Indiana University and Master of Business Administration from Grace College.


While serving in the Indiana Senate from 2010 to 2016, he chaired the Senate Veteran Affairs and Military Committee where he led the charge on many significant pro-growth, pro-family, and pro-veteran reforms.


In 2014 and 2015 while serving in the Indiana Senate Banks took a leave of absence from the Indiana Senate to deploy to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom and Freedom's Sentinel. Due to a unique state law regarding leaves of absence, his wife Amanda was elected to serve in his place during his deployment. He often says she made a better Senator than him.


Banks has served in the State Senate, Congressman Banks is past president of the Columbia City Rotary Club, former chairman of the Whitley County Republican Party, and has served on the Whitley County Council, and Northeast Indiana Workforce Development Board.


Banks was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2016 to represent Indiana's 3rd Congressional District. In the 117th Congress, Banks served as Chairman of the Republican Study Committee the largest conservative legislators in the House.


Banks currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the Committee on Education and Workforce and the newly formed House Select Committee between the United States and the Chinese Communists Party.
