" Thunder Over Heltonville" Best Fireworks Show in Lawrence County

HELTONVILLE - JULY 24, 2023 - The Pleasant Run Park in Heltonville, put on a great evening of fun for the whole family. The evening concluded with one of the county's best fireworks display, which was put on by Boom Inc.

Saturday night's activities was built around the whole family, with activities that the adults and children could take part in as a whole family unit.

This special event was used to help the Pleasant Run Park raise funds for the facilities, improvements and expenses for the youth programing.

Pleasant Run Park is working on getting new playground equipment and the recent donation from the Lawrence County Community Foundation of $5,400 has helped the group reach toward the goal.

Due to weather the event was postponed as originally scheduled, and on Saturday the event was well attended.

The guests were entertained with the Bluegrass music group "Helton Ridge" which performed a variety of Bluegrass and Country Music with the bluegrass feel.

The Pleasant Run Park is tucked away on Diamond Road just north of Heltonville that has been around for several years. When most youth softball and baseball programs end at the age of 12 when most teens enter junior high and high school, the program continues to allow the teens to play on.

There were several vendors, food, and plenty of things to do until the fireworks show concluded the evening. Many stating this was the best fireworks show put on to date in Lawrence County.

Like with all youth programing it takes money to be able to provide the services and equipment to keep the programs operational. This event helped the group keep youth activities ongoing for the small community on Lawrence County's eastside.
