MITCHELL - MARCH 17, 2023 - Three minors were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Dixie Highway and Wesley Chapel.
The 911 call reporting the accident came in at 10:05 pm Friday night.
One of the vehicles struck a utility pole. Lawrence County Fire Territory Ambulance Service transported one accident victim to IU Health Bedford Hospital, IU Lifeline Ambulance transported two patients to IU Health Bedford Hospital all injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Lawrence County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accident and complete details of the accident is not yet available. LCSD was assisted by the Mitchell Police Department at the scene.
Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, Mitchell Police Department, Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department, Lawrence County Fire Territory Ambulance, IU Lifeline Ambulance Service, and Mikel's Towing responded to the accident.
This would make two injury accidents within minutes of one another. The first accident involving a semi was reported on Indiana State Road 37 at the White River Bridge.
A semi-driver having a medical event was reported at 9:29 pm. The driver transported to IU Health Hosptial Bedford by IU Lifeline Ambulance Service.
Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department and IU Lifeline Ambulance Service responded.
